Rank
Our system is inspired by the Elo-style ranking models used by organizations like the USTA and DUPR. Players move up based on the value of their wins, including victories over more advanced players. Rankings also account for inactivity through decay to ensure accuracy over time.
Master
An AMR Master is a distinguished American Mahjong instructor certified to teach and officially rank players under the American Mahjong Ranking Authority (AMR) system.

About Us
AMR Authority is the next chapter. Born from that initial question, it’s a platform dedicated to bringing ranking, structure, and a vibrant national and global community to American Mahjong. Just as in tennis, we believe players thrive on friendly competition at their own skill level, continuous improvement, and shared passion. The AMR app is where players can find their rank, track their progress, connect with local games and tournaments, and access resources to deepen their play. "We’re building a modern ladder for a timeless game."
